One of my best discoveries of 2007 was a phenomenal skate movie called Bag-O-Suck. It was put together by a crew of previously unknown street skaters who have since the movies release risen to prominence. What really struck me about this film was the pure joy and skill in which these guys charged the streets. The entire movie is worth seeing but the section skated by Jerry Hsu is unbelievably smooth. Since skateboarding is one of the more common forms of urban expression I thought it was a good time to include it on the blog.
The other notable section of this movie was skated by Louie Barletta. Where Hsu has a smooth catlike style Barletta has a flamboyant gorilla feel, both are fabulous.
