Winter 2008

The season seems to be winding down, but there were some good moments. I feel fortunate to have been able to catch some good summer swell down in Baja Sur and some great fall and winter action in the Northwest. Here is my latest print in kind of reminds me of the feeling I had when I first got back to the island after my travels

Finally

After a long time of drifting, we are getting our old place back. The thing that I am most excited about is having a place to do some art. Last weekend I took a course on basic print making. Here is my first attempt, a bit rough but I am hooked--many more to come.

The Daily Mammal

I just found a great art blog called "The Daily Mammal". The artist is Jennifer Rae Atkins and her goal is to draw a mammal a day until she has drawn what she estimates to be about 5000 species, 14 years worth of daily drawings. I admire her commitment to animals and art; her style of drawing is very charming, I have posted a picture of one of my favourite mammals--the red panda. visit her site at http://dailymammal.blogspot.com/.
