In Recent years Bono has gotten a lot of press for all the diplomacy he is involved with. Although I really respect what he has done with his fame, I have never found him that intriguing--maybe I just don't like pleather pants. With all the fuss about Bono, I feel that the most important and dudely rock activist gets over looked. Willie Nelson, also known as the red headed stranger does alot for the people of this planet. He is the one that started Farm Aid, and he has a bio diesel company aimed at getting semi-truck drivers to switch to vegetable based fuels. If I had the opportunity to invite one celebrity over for corn bread and chili hands down I would invite Willy Nelson.

i'd agree - willie's efforts are quite laudable. his tireless support and care for the family farm alone will be one of those things history finds we under-valued more than we realize i bet.
all that said, i was pretty peeved when he joined toby keith for that vigilante justice song "beer for my horses" (released during the height of the latest mess in iraq). 'tis a shame the red headed stranger still thinks the world's injustice(s) can be solved by cowboys with little more than a six-shooter, coil of rope and tall tree.
Thanks for the thoughts James, I have not heard the song in question but I will check it out.
if you wanna save your eardrums/taste - it is toby keith after all :) - you can check the lyrics in question here http://www.lyricsfreak.com/t/toby+keith/beer+for+my+horses_20138070.html
p.s. i don't meant to sound like i'm on a high-horse with these comments either. nobody's perfect, and i don't hold willie, or bono, or gandhi, or mlk or any other modern-day saint to any higher standards than i do anyone else;
the line between "respect" and "expect" can get just too nutty otherwise...
